OUT NOW: Tresor.241 - Psycatron: People In Glass Houses EP.
Techno architect duo Paul Hamill and Dave Lievense join the family of Tresor artists with this exemplary 12" that satisfies even the toughest dancefloor techno fan.

“We wanted to try something on a slightly dubbier tip than our usual fare and had been listening to lots of old European techno from the early 90's at the time."
Psycatron on the Genesis of ‘People In Glass Houses.’

Techno duo Paul Hamill and Dave Lievense, under their Psycatron guise, have rapidly risen through the ranks of the international electronic scene. Their release of ‘Deeper Shades Of Black’ on Carl Craig’s legendary Planet E Communications became a Berghain anthem and had everyone from Derrick May to Ben Klock, Adam Beyer and Simian Mobile Disco to Kevin Saunderson behind it. Not only did it score Planet E’s debut in the Beatport Top Five (5/5) but consolidated Psycatron’s arguably Regal position at the forefront of New Techno. With their latest release ‘People In Glass Houses’ EP, on Tresor Records, this is very much a story of Techno coming home. With the energized Berlin label embracing the new leaders of Techno and inviting them to release material next to the architects of the sound. ”We were delighted to see the resurgence of the label as we'd both been fans for years. As soon as we heard the first Future Beat Alliance EP (which we love), we kind of knew our music could potentially work well for the label.”

With that said Psycatron are the first to point out that the Tracks were made without a label in mind. It was actually Paul Woolford that suggested the demos he hear of ‘People In Glass Houses’ would be a perfect fit the current musical direction… “It was only when a mate who we played the demo to suggested we send it to Tresor that we actually got round to finishing it. Tresor is one of the original homes of European techno and has a great history which we're proud to be a part of now.”

The ‘People In Glass Houses’ EP sees the welcome return of classic maxi 12” format; with the same track over three different versions. “All the versions are essentially cut from the same cloth.” On side A-side we have the "The Lateral Thinkers mix, which we did to satisfy the tougher dance floors.” On the B-side is the Original Version and then B2 see the return of the DJ tool with the “Channel Basic Mix, which is more of a DJ tool with the big filtering synth swell that runs the whole way through the original version.” So happy with the result that Psycatron have committed to ensuring “Every release we do now we're going to put some kind of DJ tools in there.”

Psycatron ‘People In Glass Houses’ EP - tracklist
1. People In Glass Houses (Psycatron’s Lateral Thinker Mix) (8:47)
2. People In Glass Houses (Original) (7:19)
3. People In Glass Houses (Channel Basic Tool) (6:46)

OUT NOW! Tresor.243 – Sleeparchive: Ronan Point. Elaborate in its austereness, rigorous in its nod to Detroit techno purity, this 4-part 12” tenacious work is from our new Tresor Records family member: Sleeparchive.

"Even as a guy like me who is not coming from techno music in his youth, I have always heard about the legendary techno club & label Tresor. many people told me stories of the old days and Tresor was often part of these stories."

In 2010, when we started to revitalise the Tresor Label, we reached out to some of the greatest artists, not just in Tresor's history, but in Techno. Late 2010 we sat down in a Paris Cafe, just off the Pompidou centre, with Jeff Mill's, on a rainy, otherwise unremarkable and miserable day. But on this day we were given two very strong pieces of advice; "hire a fanastic A&R and sign Sleeparchive." So here we are; an artist that has been on the underground radar of The Hacker, Miss Kittin and Richie Hawtin makes his debut on Tresor Records with the remarkabe 12" 'Ronan Point.'

"The tracks developed from parts and loops I had created for my live set and always wanted to make tracks from. After a little break I took with the Sleeparchive project the record for Tresor was a great opportunity to make these tracks." Sleeparchive's live sets have graced the dance floors and sound systems of Berghain, Arena Club and Bloc Weekend, so it is fair to say that the 4 tracks that make up ‘Ronan Point’ are not just tried and tested, but actually born on the dance floor.

Sleeparchive cites “Jeff Mills and Drexciya” as two of his favorite artists from the Tresor family. “And the track ‘Minus’ from Rob Hood's Internal Empire LP one of his favorite techno tracks.” ‘Ronan Point’ joins the Tresor Records discography, the catalogue number is Tresor.243, the artist is Sleeparchive and we welcome him to our prestigious family of international underground techno artists.

Tresor.243: Sleeparchive – Ronan Point tracklist:

A1. Ronan Point One (3:36)
A2. Ronan Point Two (4:41)
B1. Ronan Point Three (3:56)
B2. Ronan Point Four (5:13)
